Begging Etiquette
As we get closer to the 98PXY Summer Jam, the overall anxiety of not getting and invite can be tramatizing. Don’t let it get the best of you. If your having a hard time being the 8th caller to win your 4 pack, I have some advice for you… BEG!! But don’t be Annoying! Dj’s here at 98PXY do have hearts and want to be able to hook up as many listeners as possible. To wean out the not so passionate beggers, I have created 3 simple rules to follow when begging for Summer Jam invites…..
RULE # 3 : Have A Sob Story,… a REAL one. We as DJ’s are a custom to fakers and liars and can tell when someone is making up a story; we do it all the time : ). But a good sob story will always get the DJ listening and, depending on the mood set, will also get you a 4 pack of invites to the biggest party of the year.
RULE # 2 : Be Specific About Why You Want The Invites. Anyone can call up and say ”Please Please Please can I have some invites? All I want to do this summer is go to the Jam”. But if you REALLY want to go to the Jam, your probably a HUGE fan of one of the amazing artists thats going to be performing. Show passion and be specific about why you want to go. For example: ” I have been a fan of Tyga ever since he first started rapping, I saw him perform with the Gym Class Heroes when they were in Rochester, he is my favorite artist of all time!!”. That right there might be all you need to snag your 4 pack of invites : )
RULE # 1 : The most important rule. STROKE MY EGO! I know when I’m on the air and have someone call in and tell me how hot and sexy I am, or how I am the best DJ they’ve ever heard, and they are going to name there kids after me…. thats somthing that would put a smile on anyone’s face. It might even land you some invites to the 98PXY Summer Jam!
Obide by these 3 Rules and you will have a better chance of getting some invites to the biggest party Rochester has ever seen- The 98PXY Summer Jam!!!!

Hey Kasper! my name’s nikki, and i’ve been listening to you for years! i don’t even know how long…since i was like 13. i’m 19 now. i’m not even sure how long you’ve been a D.J., but i’ve been listening to you for a long time! i can’t sleep w/o music so yeah i sing, dance,and act. so i LOVE music! i really don’t want tickets, because i got hit by a car 5 days after grauation last year, and i’ve been to the summer jams before, and i can’t see it being physically possible or safe for me to not get trampled. i just find it funny that people will beg for tickets. i mean it’s really not begging in most cases it’s who ever can come up w/ the most creative bull crap! just wanted to tell you that i love you as a DJ, and i’ve grown up listening to you. by the way how old are you?how long have u been DJ’ing?

Re: your three rules. Rule 1, Stoking The Ego… I would name my kids after you but I am not having any more children. So, I will tell you that you are hot and sexy and the bestest DJ ever!!! Rule 2, Being Specific… My son LOVES 98PXY and all the bands that will be at the jam. Especially Secondhand Serenade! He is 13 years old. Therefore, he is not old enough to win these tickets on his own. (Although he has tried) Rule 4, Sob Story… I have been a PXY club member for some time now. I spent nearly all my points to trade for tickets because my son wanted to go so bad. We tried to win them with no luck. I had to give up all the points I have been saving for a chance to win a $50 gas gift card. I needed the gas to take him to the Summer Jam when we won the tickets. Now we have the Summer Jam tickets but we do not have the gas gift card to get us there. It is like the Gift of the Magi story. Oh wait, that is where I got that story from. I guess I did not follow the rules! Truth is. I traded my points for the tickets for my son and we will be there tonight! He is so excited. The only made up part of this is the rule 1 part and the part about needing the gas card. Although a gas card would never hurt!
